A 40-year-old convict committed suicide along with his minor son in his rented house in Bagaluru on Sunday. The deceased, Sridhar Murthy, who was convicted for life, got parole three days ago after serving eight years.

He was convicted for killing his brother-in-law over a family row. On Saturday, Sridhar went to his in-laws house and returned home with his son Srivishnu, 13, after dinner.

The incident came to light when neighbours, suspicion of the lack of activity in the house, went to check and found both father and son hanging from the ceiling of the living room. The Bagaluru police have registered a case of unnatural death and efforts are on to ascertain the reason for the suicide.
