Motorcyclist dies of head injuries

A 25-year-old BBA graduate was killed after he slipped from his motorcycle and sustained severe head injuries near Anepalya Junction in Ashok Nagar on Friday night. He has been identified as Ankur, who hailed from Kolkata and who had come to the city four days ago to attend a function. Ankur was residing at his uncle’s house in K.S. Layout and had completed his BBA from the city.

Police said that he was returning home from M.G. Road around midnight after attending a party along with his friends and had consumed alcohol. Upon reaching Anepalya Junction near the graveyard, he failed to notice a pothole. As he was overspeeding, he lost control of the bike and slipped from it. He sustained head injuries and was rushed to NIMHANS from where he was referred to Fortis Hospital. On Saturday morning between 4.30 to 5 a.m., he succumbed to his injuries.

One dead as tractor overturns

38-year-old Kuppam, a mason, was killed and his associates Thamilarasan and Velu sustained injuries when a tractor carrying water turned turtle near Beggars Colony in Kamakshipalya on Friday. Kuppan was driving the tractor to supply water to the colony when he lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a steep downhill road and the vehicle turned turtle. Kuppam was crushed to death under the vehicle while Thamilarasan and Velu were thrown on to the road and they sustained multiple injuries .

Motorcycle rider killed

A 32-year-old motorycle rider was killed after his bike collided head on with a BMTC bus on Hesaraghatta Main Road on Friday. He has been identified as Nand Kumar, a resident of Hesarghatta and an electrician by profession. The police have arrested the BMTC driver, Guru Murthy.

Police said that the accident took place at around 8 p.m. Nand Kumar, who was returning home from work,took a right turn and failed to notice the BMTC bus going towards Kempe Gowda Bus Stand and rammed into the bus. Even the bus driver failed to notice Kumar. Due to the impact of the collision, Kumar sufferd severe injuries and was shifted to a nearby private hospital where he succumbed. The Jalahalli traffic police is investigating the case .
