Motorcycle-borne men mug women

Two motorcycle-borne men robbed a home-maker of Rs 4.5 lakh cash, which she was carrying from the bank in 9th block of Jayanagar in broad day light on Thursday.

The victim Annamma (45), a resident of Tilak Nagar was towards the bus stop after drawing cash from State Bank of Mysore branch, Jayanagar’s 9 block when the incident took place at around 12 noon.

Annamma had withdrawn the cash to make an advance payment for the new house she was planning to move into with her family next month, Tilak Nagar police said.

According to Annamma, she was walking near pavement when the pillion rider of a black motorcycle snatched her handbag containing Rs 4.5 lakh. Annamma raised alarm but the duo sped away before passers-by rushed for her help.

The Tilak Nagar police have taken up a case of robbery and have collected CCTV footages from nearby commercial establishments and verifying the footages to identify the muggers.
