A four-year-old girl, raped in the house of her caretaker in Talaghattapura on August 17, succumbed to her injuries at St. John’s hospital in the early hours of Saturday. The owner of the house where the child and her parents were staying allegedly came and raped her there.
The profusely bleeding victim was initially taken to Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, where the doctor refused to treat her, following which she was admitted to St. John’s hospital. She succumbed in the ICU due to excessive bleeding.
The police have arrested two, including the woman caretaker, under POCSO Act and investigations are on.
