Minor girl raped in Chickballapur

A case of a minor raping a seven-year-old girl has been reported at village, coming under Nandi Hills police limits in Chickballapur district.

According to police, the accused is a 17-year-old boy, who reportedly raped the minor who was playing in front of her house on Saturday evening.

The accused also threatened the victim not to inform anyone about the rape. However, the rape came to light when the girl complained about abdominal pain after returning home.

Following a complaint by the girl’s parents, the Nandi Hills police have taken the accused into custody and sent him to the government home for boys in Bengaluru.

A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered.
