Commuters using the Namma Metro to get around the city will soon have more options to withdraw cash from well within the stations. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) has called tenders for the installation of 33 more ATMs in its stations as part of its long-term aim to cover its entire network.
At present, there are as many as 33 ATMs in Namma Metro stations. However, some are yet to be made operational.
BMRCL plans to ensure that all the ATMs that have been installed are made operational ‘in no time’.
“There is demand for ATMs in the stations. We saw this during the period after demonetisation,” said U.A. Vasanth Rao, General Manager, Finance (Taxation and Resources), BMRCL.
