The model of a metro coach (driver-motor coach) for Namma Metro, intended for public display, has arrived in the city.

Brought by sea from South Korea, it was transported by road from Chennai to Bangalore on a heavy truck trailer, which was parked near Anil Kumble Circle on M.G. Road on Thursday. After completing some landscaping work below the elevated metro track, the 23-metre model will be unveiled to the public from July first week onwards, according to a Namma Metro spokesperson.

The model will be unloaded from the trailer and kept beneath the elevated track. Facilities, namely, ramps to enter the coach, walking paths and the like will be created before the public can get to check it out. People can enter the coach and get a feel of one of the city's most ambitious infrastructure projects before its official launch. The model will be kept on display for about six months till the commercial operation of Namma Metro Phase 1 on Reach 1 between Byappanahalli and M.G. Road Station.
