People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Bangalore serial blast accused Abdul Nasir Maudany will undergo surgery for retinal detachment in the right eye.
Denying rumours that Mr. Maudany's condition is deteriorating, Issac Mathai, who runs SOUKYA International Holistic Centre, where the PDP leader is currently undergoing treatment, told The Hindu that the surgery will be performed early next week, as he has completely lost vision in the right eye.
Mr. Maudany was taken to Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital on Thursday, where doctors said that he has to undergo the surgery at the earliest.
"Otherwise his overall health condition is improving and he is doing much better now compared to his condition when he was brought here two-and-a-half weeks ago," said Mr. Mathai.
Mr. Maudany was taken to Manipal Hospital on January 19, where he underwent tests related to diabetes and renal problems. Mr. Maudany was getting the best of the best treatment, Mr. Mathai said.
