Man parts ways with gang, killed

He left crime at the insistence of his brother who was also murdered

November 29, 2014 11:46 pm | Updated 11:46 pm IST - Bengaluru:

The city police arrested a gang of six, including a woman, who murdered one of their associates and his brother following a rift.

The deceased are Shivu (19), a B Com student, and his brother Hemanth (25).

Hemanth was named in several theft cases. He had joined the gang of Narasimha Reddy, a resident of Hosakerehalli near Banashankari. Sources say that a rift cropped up between the brothers after Shivu learnt about Hemanth’s affiliation to the Reddy gang. This led to frequent fights. On November 23, Hemanth went missing from home. The Girinagar police recovered his body in a gunny bag abandoned in a drain. A day later, Shivu went missing.

Police tracked down Reddy based on the call records of the deceased. They claim that Reddy killed the brothers to prevent his activities from being exposed. Apparently, Reddy killed Hemanth for deciding to part ways with the gang and later Shivu when police identified the deceased.

A murder case has been booked against Reddy and others. Police are searching for some more members of the gang in connection with the murder.
