The Fraud and Misappropriation Squad officials of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested Krishna Premraj (19), a Ramachandrapura resident, on Wednesday for allegedly selling fakes of branded watches.

The police raided his shop — Lakshmi Enterprises — and recovered 102 watches, worth about Rs. 8.65 lakh, of various brands.

A case has been registered against the accused under several sections of Indian Copyright Act 1957 and Indian Penal Code.

Ex-constable ends life

A dismissed constable, who was working with the City Armed Reserve (CAR-South Division), hanged himself at his home in Thambuchettypalya Thursday night.

The deceased is T. Vasanth Kumar (34).

His father Thimmappa is a retired Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police and his mother Mary Elizabeth, a retired Head Constable.

The police said Vasanth Kumar, who was sacked in 2010 for being absent from work, was embroiled in a property dispute.
