The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested a 43-year-old man, who was selling fake government identity cards, including Aadhaar cards, electoral voter’s id and SSLC marks cards.
The accused Khalid Khan, a native of Odisha, was running a computer centre at Bommanahalli for the past four years. The police said the accused would get details of the people, who would come to get photocopies of their Aadhaar card, voter’s id card and marks card, photo-shop them with fake details and sell them.
The police said Khan would charge Rs. 2,000 for a fake Aadhaar card, Rs. 1,500 for a voter’s id, and Rs. 1,000 for SSLC marks card.
The accused confessed that he had prepared over 3,000 such fake documents and sold it to the people over the past four years to help them get government benefits, apply for passport, and for address verification.
The CCB officials have sealed his centre and taken him into custody for further investigations.
