Officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau caught a 58-year-old man at the Bengaluru International Airport and recovered 4.8 kg ketamine he was allegedly trying to smuggle to Malaysia. Officials said Joseph Balasingh was caught while he was trying to get through immigration check on Tuesday. A search of his baggage turned up 10 packets of ketamine, which is commonly known as a date rape drug, concealed in his laptop bag.

Though the price of the seized drug is estimated to be around Rs. 10 lakh, the contraband is worth 10 times the market price, officials said.
