A man has registered a case against his father-in-law, accusing him of kidnapping his wife, in Sira police station in Tumakuru district.
Mohammed Bilal, a beedi merchant, got married Shifa Banu (20) around two months ago in Bengaluru. Shifa Banu's father, Wajid Saab, a tobacco merchant and head of a Masjid in Sira, was opposed to their marriage. After getting their marriage registered in Bengaluru, the couple were living in Sira after the marriage.
On Thursday, they both had gone to Bilal's aunt's house in Sira, from where a group of around five men in a car allegedly kidnapped Shifa Banu. Bilal claimed that his father-in-law was behind the abduction.
The police are on the look out for the accused.
