The Lokayukta police on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids on the residences and properties of former BJP Minister M.P. Renukacharya and his relatives in Bengaluru, Davangere and Shivamogga.
The raids were conducted as part of the ongoing inquiry into the alleged disproportionate assets amassed by him.
Raids were also conducted at his sister and father-in-law’s houses in Davangere, two of his houses in Kundur and Kolambi villages in Honnalli taluk, a college and hospital owned by him in Shivamogga and two houses in Bengaluru. There were raids at his brother’s house in Honnalli taluk of Davangere district also.
Based on the complaint of RTI activist and Brashtachar Nirmulana Vedike member Gurupadaiah Mathad, the Special Lokayukta court had ordered the Davangere Lokayukta Superintendent to conduct a thorough inquiry and submit a detailed report by June 26.
