“The way the law and order situation is handled in Bangalore makes it one of the best cities in the country, unlike New Delhi, where there is a serious problem,” Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister R. Ashok has said.
He was speaking after inaugurating Chamundeshwari Stadium and Nandavana Children’s Playground in Jayanagar 4th ‘T’ Block here on Friday as part of the 88th birthday celebrations of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee.
Central funds

“The Union government should provide more funds for Bangalore’s development the way it has helped out cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai,” Mr. Ananth Kumar said, and added that he would place a request in this regard with the Prime Minister’s Office.
Mr. Ashok urged the MP to get clearances for interlinking of the Ganga and the Cauvery, so that “Karnataka does not have to deal with neighbouring States.”
B.N. Vijaykumar, Jayanagar MLA, said 10 parks had been improved in Jayanagar. “Apart from this, an e-library and a career counselling centre for students will be set up on 11th Main Road, Jayanagar, in January,” he said.
Later, Atal Achala , a book on Mr. Vajpayee written by Begur Ramesh, was released. Vajpayee Arogyasri cards and bicycles were distributed to pourakarmikas on the occasion.
