The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded an impartial probe into awarding contract to Matrix Imaging Solutions, in which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son was a director, to set up diagnostic centre at PMSSY, Victoria Hospital, here.
At a press conference on Monday, AAP State co-convenor Shivakumara Chengalaraya said that while six companies participated in the pre-bidding meeting, only HLL Healthcare Ltd. and Matrix came forward to participate in the bid and finally Matrix secured the contract. “Tender process was a ‘sham’. The resignation of Dr. Yatindra from Matrix does not negate all the wrong-doing that has happened,” he charged.
With regard to cases against former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa that were quashed by the Karnataka High Court, Mr. Chengalaraya charged that the Siddaramaiah government had not filed any appeal in the Supreme Court. “AAP had written to the Chief Minister urging him to appeal to Supreme Court. We suspect the possible nexus between Congress and BJP to protect Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who is a co-accused along with Mr. Yeddyurappa in the Benniganahalli land denotification case,” he said.
Another co-convenor of AAP Prithivi Reddy said both BJP and Congress were two faces of same coins as far as corruption is concerned.
