The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha functionaries staged a protest here on Thursday demanding the resignation of Primary Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar for his alleged failure to control the second PU chemistry question paper leak. The episode should be handed over to the CBI for investigation, it urged.

“The Minister failed to control the officers of his department, resulting in frequent leakage of question papers, putting mental pressure on the student community”, the protesters said.

The officials of the department are “hand in glove with private educational institutions,” vice-president of KRRS K. Narayana Gowda alleged. Students of rural areas are particularly affected by repeated re-examinations, he said.

The Chief Minister should drop Mr. Ratnakar from the Cabinet if the latter does not step down owing moral responsibility for the fiasco, the outfit said.
