The CCB filed an interim charge sheet on Wednesday in the recovery of unaccounted cash of ₹1.97 crore from an advocate’s car last October while he was passing through Vidhana Soudha.

Despite six months of detailed probe, the CCB has failed to ascertain the source of the cash seized from Harapanahalli-based Siddarth Hiremath.

A 209-page interim charge sheet was filed by the CCB with the 1 ACMM seeking more time to ascertain the source of the money.

The CCB examined 80 witnesses and recorded their statements while cross-checking the advocate’s claim that the money was fees received from his clients, a senior police officer said.
