With the State recording its best results in the SSLC examination in the last 12 years, with an overall pass percentage of 81.19, the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) has increased the number of sections for I PU courses.

DPUE Commissioner Ramegowda told The Hindu that the number of sections in colleges had been increased for streams such as commerce and arts, anticipating higher demand. “Our proposal to start 416 PU colleges is also pending with the government,” he said. According to the admission guidelines published by the DPUE, May 16 is the last date for colleges to distribute application forms, while May 19 is the last date to accept application forms. The first list of admissions will out be May 27, the second on June 4 and the third list will be out on June 12. The last date for admissions to I PU courses without penal fee is June 16 and July 15 is the last date for admission for those who clear SSLC supplementary exams. Classes will commence on June 16.
