I-T officer’s son kidnapped, ransom demanded

An Income Tax officer’s 19-year-old son was reportedly kidnapped by a gang two days ago for a ransom.

The victim, Sharath, is a diploma student and resident of Kengeri Ullala was missing for the past two days. They received a WhatsApp message in which Sharath requested them to arrange ₹50 lakh ransom for his release. He has also, while addressing his father, claimed that someone who “suffered” because of him had kidnapped him. He has also claimed that he was being tortured and requested his parents to arrange the ransom money soon.

The Jnanabharati police have taken up a case and are investigating to track down the kidnappers.
