‘Huccha’ Venkat held over Ambedkar comments

The Jnanabharati Police on Thursday arrested Kannada film actor ‘Huccha’ Venkat for his derogatory statement against Dr. B.R. Ambedkar during an interview in a Kannada news channel recently.

‘Huccha’ Venkat, who was known for his provocative remarks, had made a statement against Dr. Ambedkar.

The students of Bengaluru University had filed a police complaint. There were massive protests against the actor.

Following this, Venkat went to the police station where the police arrested him and remanded him in judicial custody.
