Hospital services not hit

Most hospitals remained unaffected by the bandh. Some private clinics, however, were closed till evening. Doctors, nurses and other staff were specially told to ensure that nobody skips duty and be prepared for emergencies, if any.

Meanwhile, the State-run K.G. General Hospital reported a slight decrease in patient inflow. Lakshmi G.T., who was discharged from K.C. General Hospital on Thursday, said, “We feared that it would difficult to get public transport. However, seeing autos plying, we believe that we will be able to reach home.”

The 108 call centre for ambulance services received 198 calls, 10 per cent more than that on Wednesday.
