History-sheeter murdered in Kengeri

A 35-year-old history-sheeter was chased by a gang of eight and allegedly murdered in Kengeri Satellite Town on Saturday.

The victim, who has been identified as Giri, a resident of Nanjamba Agrahara in Chamarajpet, was driving on Mysore Road when he was chased by the gang in a car and two motorcycles. Their vehicle rammed into his car, pushing it into the drain. The gang then attacked him and he died, police said.

Police suspect the involvement of a rowdy identified as Chandru, who was earlier part of Giri’s gang. In 2008, Giri and Chandru had allegedly murdered Padiappan, they said. The two had fallen apart in the last six months. Relations further soured when Giri allegedly attacked Chandru a month ago.

Giri was an accused in murder, attempt to murder, kidnap and dacoity cases. He mainly operated in Chamarajpet and K.P. Agrahara areas. The police have arrested Chandrashekhar (Chandru), Srikant and Ganga. Five others are absconding.

According to the police, Giri was travelling with Naveen, who escaped. . He helped identify the suspects.
