Group clash over transportation of cattle, eight injured

Eight persons sustained injuries in a clash between two groups over transportation of cattle in Islamapura in HAL police station limits on Thursday.

According to the police, a group of activists belonging to Prani Daya Sangha, an animal rights group, tried to stop a vehicle alleging that cattle was being illegally transported to the slaughter house. This led to altercations that soon turned into heated arguments before erupting in a clash between the two groups which led to a tense situation in the area.

The HAL police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.

Home Minister K.J.George along with the senior police officials visited the spot to take stock of the situation.
