Train services on the Green Line (Reach 3 and 3A) of Namma Metro were disrupted for about an hour on Sunday afternoon due to power failure. However, no passenger was stranded midway and all were informed regarding the power failure, said a release.

According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) sources, the train came to a halt at Kuvempu, Rajajinagar, Yeswanthpur, Yeswanthpur Industry and Peenya Industry stations.

The power supply from the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL) tripped at around 3.03 p.m. due to which the trains came to a halt. The services resumed at 4.03 p.m. after the power supply was restored.

The Green Line connecting Peenya and Sampige Road was inaugurated a little more than a month ago.

The press release here said six round trips were affected due to disruption in power supply. Train fare was refunded for 675 passengers.

Authorities said they are trying to find out what caused the power failure in the Peenya sub-station of KPTCL.

Bescom officials said there was a glitch with the line between KPTCL receiving station in Peenya and the Bescom network and that caused the power failure.
