Girl arrested for posting indecent content on Facebook

The Cyber Crime Police Station, Goa, on Thursday arrested a 22-year-old girl from Cuncolim in south Goa in connection with the creation of eight fake profiles on the social networking website, Facebook.

Further, the police said, she has been charged with using a fake ID to post sexually derogatory message against women with their photographs. A total of eight fake IDs created by the accused have been traced by Cyber Crime police, said Mr. Karthik Kashyap, Superintendent of Police, Cyber Cell.

The police also recovered the device allegedly used to commit the offence. The accused was a friend of those whose fake accounts she created. She would post update during the early hours of the morning to avoid tracking.
