The 15th All India People’s Science Congress on ‘Science for Social Change’ will be held in Bengaluru from May 22 to 25.
Organised by Karnataka Rajya Vignana Parishat and Bharata Gnana Vijnana Samithi, Karnataka Chapter, the four-day event includes sessions on Science, Myth and Scientific Temperament, self-reliance, Development Policies and Alternatives and Women and Development.
Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, Honorary president of the Karnataka Rajya Vignana Parishat Vasundara Bhupathi said Vice-President Hamid Ansari will inaugurate the seminar.
Renowned scientists, Prof. C.N.R. Rao, Prof. U.R. Rao Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Minister for Science and Technology S.R. Patil will participate in the inaugural session. Freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy will inaugurate seminar on Development in Karnataka which looks into various aspects of development and alternatives such as Agriculture, food security, rural technology, industrial development sustainable development.
L.N. Prabha, Secretary, Bharat Jnan Vijana Samithi said nearly 800 delegates including scientists, technocrats, experts in agriculture, teachers, lecturers, doctors, engineers, science activists and students representing 38 people’s Science Organisations from across the country will participate in the four-day science programme that will be held at Jnana Jyothi Auditorium, Central College premises, Palace Road.
The event also features poster exhibition, film shows and cultural programme every day between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
