Since Tuesday, four cases of chain snatching have been reported from various parts of the city. The police suspect the same gang to be involved in the incidents. According to them, bike-borne men have been targeting women and robbing them of their gold chain.

Shakuntala Ramanna, a home-maker from Raghavensdra Mutt, was walking towards her yoga centre on Wednesday morning when two men on bike robbed her off the gold chain weighing 70 grams. Ms. Ramanna raised an alarm, but the duo sped away before passers-by could rush to her help. Based on her complaint, the Rajarajeshwarinagar police have taken up a case and are investigating.

Earlier on Tuesday evening, Gouramma, a 45-year-old garment factory employee, was robbed of her gold chain weighing 20 grams in Manasa Nagar in Chandra Layout. Ms. Gouramma was walking back home after work when the incident occurred.

A similar incident occurred in RMC Layout, where a home-maker Jayalakshmamma was robbed of her gold chain weighing 55 grams while she was walking back home.

Ms. Jayalakshmmamma had gone to her relatives house and was walking back home from the bus stop in Raghavendra Layout when two men on bike snatched her chain and sped away.

The fourth case was reported from Giddappa block. Savitha was walking towards her home after fetching her child from school on Tuesday afternoon when a duo on bike snatched her chain weighing 45 grams.
