Fortis launches new centre for sports orthopaedics

Fortis Hospitals launched a new Centre for Sports Orthopaedics and Arthroscopy in the city on Thursday.

Mark Ferguson, orthopaedic and principal surgeon at the Centre for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics in Rosebank, South Africa, (who has treated sports personalities like Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath) and Evan Speechly, South African physiotherapist, who is currently the official physiotherapist for the Bangalore Royal Challengers cricket franchise in the Indian Premier League, were present at the launch.

P.C. Jagadeesh, who heads the centre, told presspersons that that the centre would cater to professional sportspersons across all age groups as well as the public looking for treatment of chronic joint, ligament and cartilage problems.
