Former judge's report released

March 28, 2011 12:24 pm | Updated 12:45 pm IST - Bangalore:

Former Karnataka High Court judge M.F. Saldanha, who has conducted an independent inquiry on the church attacks, has blamed Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and then Home Minister V.S. Acharya.

A compilation of his findings, Report of the People's Tribunal Enquiry, was released by Archbishop Ignatius Pinto and Shantinagar MLA N.A. Haris here on Sunday.

Mr. Saldanha has alleged that the Justice Somasekara Commission's final report, which has virtually given a clean chit to the Government, was a “bundle of lies”.

“The commission has failed to take into cognisance evidences and witnesses. As far as the role of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister is concerned, they have abetted what had happened,” he alleged.
