Five injured in suspected cylinder blast in Bangalore

Five persons including two children sustained injuries in a suspected LPG cylinder blast in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bangalore on Tuesday.

The impact of the blast was so high that the concrete ceiling of the house caved. The injured have been identified as Gajendra Nayak, Mahantesh and Suma Bai, besides four-year-old Monica and two-year-old Harsha.

Residents, who woke up to the sound of the blast rushed to the victims’ help. They alleged that the ambulance reached late to shift them to hospital. The injured have been admitted to Victoria hospital where Gajendra and Monica are said to be critical.

The Rajarajesjwari Nagar police have rushed to the spot and are investigating the reason behind the blast.
