Fire breaks out near Shivaji Nagar bus depot

Apart from waste, no other major damages have been reported.

A fire broke out at a building owned by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in Shivaji Nagar on Thursday noon.

The building was used to store dry waste products such as pipes, papers, banners and plastic, among others. The traffic police controlling the situation said that the BBMP building in chota maidaan accidentally caught fire.

Five fire-tenders with over 35 fire-men were rushed to the spot who battled the blaze for about an hour and the fire was completely doused by 1.30 p.m. A fire tender has been stationed in the area as a precautionary measure.

Passers-by were kept at bay and traffic was diverted to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.

Apart from waste, no other major damages have been reported.
