A 29-year-old fashion designer allegedly committed suicide at his rented house in JB Nagar on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Hong Reipam, a native of Manipur, residing in a rented house in HAL second stage with his sister.

Hong was working as a fashion consultant with Blossom Life Style. He was found hanging in the house to the ceiling fan with a nylon rope around 8:30 pm when his younger sister Tonton Phykashung returned home.

Tonton told the police that she went out for shopping around 6 pm on Monday as she had a weekly off, while Hong decided to stay back in the house.

He was drinking when she left and returned three hours later to find the front door ajar. She went inside to find Reipam body hanging to the ceiling fan of the house.

The JB Nagar police rushed to the spot and conducted investigations. According to the police, Reipam was said to be under depression for some reason and this could be one of the reason for the extreme step. A case of unnatural death has been taken up and investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of death.
