Excise and lottery ban squad arrests four

The excise and lottery ban squad of Ramanagaram district have arrested four persons for their involvement in single digit lottery, which was banned by the State government in 2007.

Tip-off

Based on a tip-off, a team of officials arrested Veera Sena, Dattatreya, Mujaheed and Manju at Kanakapura town last Monday and booked them under section 78 of the Karnataka Police Act, a release said.

With this arrest, the squad has made 11 arrests this year.

Strict action

The department has also directed district superintendents (excise) to take strict action against those involved in single digit lottery and gambling.
