Driver of fire engine ends life

A 29- year old mechanic-cum-driver of the Fire and Emergency Services department allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his quarters near Dairy circle on Monday.

The police have identified the deceased as Kishore Kumar, a native of Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district. The incident came to light when his wife, Bhavya, returned home from her parents house on Monday evening. The Wilson Garden police shifted the body to the Victoria Hospital, where the post-mortem was done on Tuesday.

While the police are yet to ascertain the reason for the suicide , Kishore Kumar's colleagues on condition of anonymity suspected that harassment from seniors could be the reason..

Police said that Kumar was married four years ago to Bhavya . He joined the Fire and Emergency Services department in 2008. He was attached with Jayanagar workshop of fire department. He did not go to work on Monday and his wife went to her parent’s house in Koramangala along with her son.

Kiran Kumar, brother of Kishore Kumar, said that his brother did not appear to have any problems never discussed about anything at home or with his siblings. The police said that they have registered a case of unnatural death. Investigations are on.
