It isn’t just vehicular air or noise pollution that the Transport Department is going after.
In a surprise check at Mysore Bank Circle, Kempe Gowda Bus Stand, Corporation Circle and other areas, department officials seized 112 vehicles for excessive emission and for shrill horns. The department also booked cases against those who had installed extra high beam lights, high voltage LED lights and large heavy focus lights, said a release which dubbed these devises as emitting excessive light that blinds oncoming vehicles.
The department officials also seized registration plates and boards of vehicles which depicted designations such as chairman or president of political parties or other organisations.
