‘Didn’t seek leadership change’

July 01, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - Bengaluru:

Backtracking on his demand for change in leadership in the State after he was dropped from the Ministry, former Municipal Administration and Wakf Minister Qamarul Islam on Thursday said he was only seeking justice for the minority community in Hyderabad Karnataka region.

Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Islam, who along with another former Minister A.B. Malaka Reddy met senior party leader S.M. Krishna on Tuesday, said: “I have only aired my views about the improper representation of minority community, especially from Hyderabad Karnataka region, in the Cabinet. The issue of leadership change is left to the high command.”

He said AICC secretary Chella Kumar, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao had spoken to him and assured him that his services would be recognised.
