Pre-university students who on Sunday wrote the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) — the entrance test for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs, IITs and other Centrally-funded technical institutions — found the examination moderately tough.
Many of the students complained that their study schedule was affected as they got three fewer days this time to prepare for the exam. The JEE (Main) examination was held offline on Sunday, while the online exam is scheduled for April 9 and April 10.
According to the original calendar of events, the PU exam was to be completed on March 28, but the schedule was affected due to the leakage of the chemistry paper.
Manaswini V.A., a student, said, “According to the original calendar of events, we would have got a week to prepare for JEE. But as the chemistry exam was scheduled on March 31, we spent three days preparing for it, and this ate into our preparation time for JEE. Had I had more time, I could have done a little better.”
Analysis of the JEE paper by various coaching class centres revealed that the mathematics section was lengthy and tough, but the chemistry and physics sections were relatively easier.
Those who clear the JEE (Main) exam will be eligible to appear for the JEE (Advanced) exam.
