Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) national president H.D. Deve Gowda on Wednesday visited the agitation spot at Vidhana Soudha where 15 MLCs of the Opposition parties have been striking, demanding fulfilment of 32 demands of school teachers and lecturers.

Mr. Gowda lashed out Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for ignoring the demands and not meeting legislators.

Mr. Siddaramaiah had appealed to the legislators to withdraw the strike and attend a meeting convened on September 15 to discuss the demands.

The MLCs have been protesting in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Vidhana Soudha since last Wednesday.
