Responding to the allegations that the police had booked cases against innocent persons after violent protests took place against the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal’s interim order, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said the State Cabinet that is meeting on August 10 would take a call on withdrawing such cases. “Cases have been registered against 188 people under various sections of IPC. Senior IPS officer Raghavendra Auradkar and Director of Prosecution and Government Litigation V.R. Hosur will review these cases and submit a report within the next two to three days. Based on their report, the Cabinet will arrive at a decision,” the Chief Minister said.
