The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday permitted the R.G. Vaidyanatha Commission of Inquiry to continue its proceedings regarding the March 2, 2012 violence at the City Civil and Sessions Courts complex here. Justice A.N. Venugopala Gowda passed the interim order while hearing a petition filed by the Advocates’ Association, Bengaluru, which had questioned the necessity of continuing the commission when the Central Bureau of Investigation was probing the incidents following an order passed by the Supreme Court last year. The court had earlier stayed the proceedings before the commission. The court asked the CBI to complete the probe by December 31 as per the undertaking given by the agency.
