Complainants Day, a new initiative of city police

April 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - Bengaluru:

The Central Division Police on Saturday launched their first-ever ‘Complainants Day’ as a part of which police briefed complainants on the status of their case.

“This initiative is not only to instil confidence among the public, but also bridge the gap between the public and the police,” said Sandeep Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division).

As a part of the initiative, police officials will now call complainants to the police station concerned and apprise them of the progress of the investigation and address any other concern. Updates on the recovery, arrest, court proceedings and other details will be given to the complainants, the official added.

A large number of complainants visited police stations on Saturday.

Encouraged the response, Mr. Patil said the initiative will be held regularly. Police will also start updating complainants about the case by sending them SMSes and making phone calls.
