Providing the mantra to achieve success, consultant psychologist Swarnalatha Iyer has said that youngsters need to look within and always make an effort to improve upon their previous performance.
Delivering the keynote address at the launch of The Hindu in School (THiS) activities for this academic year in St. John’s School here on Thursday, she told students that they need to do right things to achieve success. “You should not compete with others, instead, you need to compete with yourself and keep improving,” she said.
Ms. Iyer urged the students to ask questions to their teachers or parents, if they have not understood their lessons. She highlighted the importance of participating in activities such as Newspaper in Education (NIE).
Ms. Iyer told the students to develop right hobbies. The launch saw enthusiastic participation by students. School principal Princess Franklyn expressed happiness over the institution’s long association with The Hindu . J. Shekar, assistant regional general manager, circulation department, The Hindu (Bangalore), said the initiative, which was introduced in Bangalore in 2000, had evolved over the years.
