The district unit of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has condemned the police excess on workers in Bengaluru during their agitation against new PF norms and decided to stage a protest on Wednesday.
CITU district president Gandhinagar Narayanaswamy said while the Centre is attempting to “scuttle the rights of workers” by amending labour laws, the Congress government in the State has resorted to suppress the “voice of the working class” by using police force.
The CITU will stage a protest at KSRTC Bus Stand Circle here on Wednesday to register its protest against the police action.
Mr. Narayanaswamy demanded rollback of new PF norms which are not in the interests of the working class.
