A day after the sexual assault of a three-and-a-half year-old child in a play school here on Friday came to light on Monday, the police on Tuesday booked the school management under section 188 of IPC for negligence.

Three of the preschool management members where the child was sexually assaulted have been arrested for not complying with child safety norms.

Hemanth Nimbalkar, Additional Commissioner East confirmed this development and said that it was done as they did not comply with the Karnataka State Child Protection Policy.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Narayana M. said the police were questioning the school authorities.

“We will check if the school complied to the Karnataka State Child Protection Policy and other guidelines related to child safety,” he said.

The child was sexually assaulted allegedly by Manjunath V, a supervisor at the school. He was arrested after the child’s parents lodged a police complaint that day itself.
