Under the leadership of Congress MLA Dr. Sudhakar, Chikkaballapur, has pledged to use only eco-friendly clay Ganesha this festive season.

The MLA has launched a distribution programme of 2,000 clay Ganesha idols at his constituency.

Speaking to the reporters, Dr. Sudhakar said, “Chikkaballapur is largely affected by the consequences of climate change, we have been reeling under severe drought over the last two years. I think it's high time we acknowledge the need for environment concern and instil these thoughts in our people. This year, I have urged people to opt for eco-friendly clay Ganesha instead of idols made of plaster of paris to save the environment.”

As part of the campaign, the MLA has also initiated a social media campaign to create awareness.
