Charges against CM false: FIMI

March 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - BENGALURU:

Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) on Wednesday termed as “totally false and baseless” the charges made by the Opposition BJP against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with regard to renewal of mining licences.

It said the State government extended licences as per the Ordinance promulgated by the Centre.

Basant Poddar, vice-chairman, FIMI, told presspersons here there were 115 mines in ‘A’ and ‘B’ category in Karnataka and leases of these mines would come up for auction only after March 31, 2020.

All mining licences automatically got extended following promulgation of the Ordinance and the State government had no power over the matter, he said.
