The case of attack on African nationals allegedly by locals in Kothanur on March 9 night has been handed over to the Central Crime Branch for a detailed probe, said City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi.

“Some people expressed doubts about the local police’s investigations. We will not spare anyone, local or foreign, who has committed an offence. There is no question of any cover up,” Mr. Reddi said on his official account on a social networking site.

“Police are genuinely trying to build healthy relationship with members of the African community. We have ensured that two cases are registered and nine have already been arrested. More arrests will follow,” he added.
