CCB raids readymade garment shop, arrests one

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police raided a ready-made garment shop in Hesaraghatta and arrested a man from Bihar for selling local garments with labels of international brand.

The accused, Lalit Bhoji Pandit, was getting the ready-made jeans and T-shirts from Tirupur in Tamil Nadu and attached the logos of Hollister, Lee, Arrow and Tommy Hilfiger and sell them to customers at throwaway prices.

Based on a tip off, the team of officials raided Maa Kaali exports and recovered apparels worth Rs. seven lakh. The accused has been booked under Copyright Act and remanded to judicial custody.
