CCB arrests chain snatcher involved in 25 cases

A 24-year-old man from Pune in Maharashtra has been arrested by sleuths of the Central Crime Branch who have recovered gold chains weighing 900 gm and worth Rs. 27 lakh from him.

The man, Haider Syed Noor Irani, is suspected to be part of a notorious gang involved in a series of chain snatching cases, robberies and robbery by diverting attention. Haider claimed to have targeted around 25 women — four in Jnanabharati, three in Banaswadi, four in Chandra Layout, two each in Hanumanth Nagar, Subramanyapura and HSR Layout and one each in Sanjay Nagar, Vijaya Nagar, Vidyaranyapura, Varthur, Yeshwantpura, Amruthahalli, Adugodi and Koramangala police station limits.
